North Carolina's Obesity Prevention Plan is a seven-year plan (2013-2020) offering overarching goals and measurable objectives for anyone working in the area of overweight and obesity prevention. The Plan is designed to guide the efforts of those working as part of the Eat Smart, Move More NC movement to make healthy eating and physical activity the easy choice for all North Carolinians.

This two-day training explores the concepts of a strengths based approach in considering what is importatnt to and for the client and his/her family.  Enjoy the hands-on approach, group exercises, discussion and personal relfection.  The training will be led by facilitator Mark Merritt.

The Division of Community Outreach has received an External Scholar's Grant to be able to bring a speaker to campus to discuss Asperger Syndrom in the college environment.

IHHS Divisions of Community Outreach and Division of Clinical Services have been notified that they will be receiving a community service grant for their work related to The Crinkleroot Retreat autsim camp.  This annual camp was held during April of 2010 with the support of students and faculty from numerous ASU departments.

Held on April 26, 2010 and supported by IHHS PARC, the first annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was attended by over 80 law enforcement officers representing ASU Police, Boone Police, Sheriff's Department, Highway Patrol, Beech Mountain Police and Park Rangers.  Attendees enjoyed lunch at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center and learned about County Wide efforts to reduce drinking and driving.
