Race Day Information

The Course: The safety of our participants and families at the GOTR-HC 5k is our top priority. As always, we will have plenty of volunteers to make sure this is truly a celebration for our girls. The running route is an out and back route on a paved surface. There will be no road crossings!

Dogs and Strollers: Bring 'em!

Getting to the Race and Parking: Arrive early to allow time to get from your car to the race start. The 5k starts at 2:00pm so give yourself plenty of time to get settled in. We will have fun warm-up activities for the entire family!

Cancellation Policy: All attempts will be made to hold the event whether rain, shine or snow! It may be necessary to cancel if road conditions are unsafe or if lightening or ice is predicted. We will update the Girls on the Run of the High Country website as well as our Facebook page in the case of severe weather. A final decision will be made by 11:00am as to the status of the 5k.

Refund Policy: Your race registration fee is a donation to the Girls on the Run Scholarship fund. No refunds will be given even in the event of race cancellation, illness or injury. With written request, registration fees may be able to be transferred to the next 5k.

Volunteer as a 5K Helper

The goal of each 5K is for the girls to do their best and HAVE FUN! Girls are not encouraged to race competitively but are encouraged to reach their own goals. For most girls, that's making it to the finish line – whether it is by walking, running, or skipping.

To make this a FUN event, we will need helpers to fill several positions including Sparkle Squad, cheerleaders, decorators, and directional flag-wavers.
