High Country Triple Crown

The High Country Triple Crown is celebrating its 16th year of existence as the premier running series in the High Country of North Carolina. Headquartered in Boone, NC and sponsored by the Beaver College of Health Sciences at Appalachian State University, the Triple Crown consists of three races of varying difficulty and terrain. All races showcase the breathtaking scenery of the NC mountains coupled with the vitality of the local community. Runners are encouraged to complete all three races for special prizes and reduced fees.

In 2020, runners who complete all three Triple Crown events are once again eligible to win over $1500 in cash awards for the top competitors in overall and grandmaster (age 50+) categories!

MORE FUN FOR THE HALF MARATHON!!! In 2017 we presented a new High Country Half Marathon route that featured a 2.5 mile downhill finish!  Once again we will follow this route to end in Davant Park in downtown Blowing Rock!  Our celebration this year will include live music and food and drinks sponsored by Lost Province Brewing Company, Beech Mt. Brewing Company and Appalachian Mt. Brewery!!

100% of the proceeds from The High Country Triple Crown will benefit local kids' organizations including Girls on the Run of the High Country and AppKIDS.
